How Does TGUARD™ Support Daily Urinary Tract Wellness?

TGUARD™ supports daily urinary tract wellness with four ingredients that work in different ways: cranberry PACs, D-mannose, mushroom beta-glucans and aronia. You stir one 5 gram scoop into yogurt, a smoothie or applesauce, so urinary tract support becomes one simple daily habit. TGUARD™ is a non-antibiotic dietary supplement made by Tyrian Health.

Key takeaways

  • TGUARD™ is a daily, non-antibiotic powder for urinary tract wellness, with 30 servings of 5 grams per canister.
  • Most urinary tract supplements feature one ingredient. TGUARD™ combines four, each with a different role.
  • A 2023 Cochrane review found cranberry products probably lower the risk of symptomatic UTIs in women with recurrent UTIs, by about a quarter in the pooled results.
  • Independent laboratory testing showed an average of 80% eradication of preformed E. coli biofilm for TGUARD™.

Why do people look for daily urinary tract support?

Tired of feeling like your urinary tract health is always on your mind? For many women dealing with recurring urinary concerns, including after sex or around menopause, the cycle of discomfort and reactive care is exhausting. That is why people look for something simple they can do every day, instead of only reacting when symptoms appear.

A powder fits easily into a routine. You stir a serving into food you already eat, and it becomes a daily habit rather than another pill to remember.

If you have frequent UTIs or urinary changes around menopause, talk with a clinician. A supplement can be one part of a plan.

How do the four ingredients in TGUARD™ fit together?

Most urinary tract supplements rely on a single ingredient, usually cranberry or D-mannose. We built TGUARD™ to take a broader approach, with each ingredient playing a different role.

Cranberry PACs. Proanthocyanidins (PACs) are polyphenols found in cranberries, and researchers study them because they may make it harder for E. coli bacteria to attach to the cells lining the bladder. A 2023 Cochrane review of 50 randomized trials found that cranberry products probably lower the risk of symptomatic UTIs in women with recurrent UTIs (risk ratio 0.74, or about a quarter fewer).

D-mannose. D-mannose is a naturally occurring simple sugar and one of the best-known ingredients in urinary wellness routines. The idea is that it may bind certain bacteria so they are more easily carried out of the urinary tract during urination. We see it as one part of a combined daily routine.

Mushroom beta-glucans. Beta-glucans are fibers found in the cell walls of fungi, including mushrooms. We include them for immune wellness and for gut microbiome support, including for people who have recently taken antibiotics. A 2021 systematic review of 34 randomized trials of fungal beta-glucans found that most studied immune outcomes, with reports of fewer or milder colds and other respiratory infections.

Aronia. Aronia (Aronia melanocarpa, also called chokeberry) is a dark purple berry that is naturally rich in anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins (PACs). It adds additional PACs and polyphenol-rich whole-berry nutrition to your day. We grow our aronia on our regenerative farms in the Midwest.

Laboratory testing. In independent laboratory testing by Nelson Laboratories Bozeman, LLC, TGUARD™ showed an average of 80% eradication of preformed E. coli biofilm. This was an in vitro study, so it does not establish clinical results. TGUARD™ is not intended to treat an active infection.

How do you use TGUARD™ every day?

Consistency matters more than any single dose. A routine that fits your morning is the one you will keep.

  1. Drink water regularly. Start with a glass in the morning and keep sipping through the day.
  2. Stir in your daily serving. Mix one 5 gram scoop of TGUARD™ into yogurt, a smoothie or applesauce so it becomes part of a meal you already eat.
  3. Add polyphenol-rich foods. Berries, or a scoop of 100% Aronia Berry Powder in a smoothie or oatmeal, add color and variety to your diet.
  4. Pick a consistent time. Taking your supplement at the same time each day makes it easier to stick with.
  5. Check in with your clinician. Discuss any new supplement with your doctor, especially if you get recurring UTIs, take other medications, or are going through hormonal changes. Get medical care promptly if you have UTI symptoms such as burning, urgency, fever or back pain.

Frequently asked questions

What makes TGUARD™ different from other urinary tract supplements?

Most urinary tract supplements feature a single ingredient, usually cranberry or D-mannose. TGUARD™ combines four ingredients that work in different ways, cranberry PACs, D-mannose, mushroom beta-glucans and aronia, in one daily powder, so you can build a single routine around urinary tract wellness, immune support and gut microbiome support.

Can I take TGUARD™ every day?

Yes. TGUARD™ is formulated as a daily, non-antibiotic dietary supplement for ongoing urinary tract wellness, with 30 servings of 5 grams per canister. Mix it into yogurt, a smoothie or applesauce. Talk with your clinician if you take medications or have a medical condition.

Is TGUARD™ an antibiotic?

No. TGUARD™ is a non-antibiotic dietary supplement for daily urinary tract wellness. It does not replace antibiotics, and it is not intended to treat an active infection.

Why does TGUARD™ include mushroom beta-glucans?

We include mushroom beta-glucans to support the immune system and the gut microbiome, especially for people who have recently taken antibiotics. Beta-glucans are fibers that gut bacteria ferment.

How are aronia berries different from cranberries?

Aronia is a polyphenol-rich superfood, naturally high in anthocyanins and also containing proanthocyanidins (PACs). Cranberry contains proanthocyanidins too, but they are not the same: the urinary tract research focuses on cranberry's distinctive A-type PACs. We include aronia for additional PACs and polyphenol-rich whole-berry nutrition.
